This is the first post you're going to see in my page, Panzerkampwagen VIII Maus test model. This model took me 2 hours and it's enough reason to create a page showing my projects/concepts/knowledge and trying to teach the things i know.
As you can see, the tank was done by modifying boxes and circles, it's a
little bit easy because it's composed by linear sectors, i think the
hardest parts of the model was caterpillar and the whole cannon, which
was made by moving vertices, catterpillar was made by using an Array of
30 little boxes and PathDeform modifier linked to a line that follows
the tracks. There's a little camera in front of the Tank in order to
record an animation of the engine working and a rotating turret.
The caterpillars will move when you change the value of Percent control in PathDeform properties. You'll need to start the animation by clicking the AutoKey button and selecting any frame.
The material used on this model was just a white camo texture, separated in 4 different materials and a light spot with Shadows On in order to make more beautiful the scene, I'll upload the model, textures and a lil' how to soon.
